Arizona Arson Attorney

A person is charged with arson in Arizona if the state feels the individual knowingly and deliberately damaged a property or structure with fire or by creating an explosion. Arson of a structure and property valued at more than $1,000 are class 4 felonies. If the damaged property had a value of less than $1,000 but more than $100, it is a class 5 felony. Arson of property valued at $100 or less is a class 1 misdemeanor.

What Are You Facing with an Arson Conviction?

Punishments for arson in Arizona will vary depending on the severity of the fire. The court will also take a few other aspects into account including whether or not the building or property was occupied if you have prior arson convictions, and whether anyone was injured. If someone was indeed injured in the fire, an additional aggravated assault charge could bring further punishments. If convicted all Arizona arson crimes carry possibilities of month or years in jail time, fines and surcharges, and probation.
